Quintilian (c.35 - c.100) was a Roman rhetorician from Hispania. The Institutiones Oratoriae is his only extant work. It was a twelve-volume work on rhetoric and dealt with the theory and practice of rhetoric as well as with the foundational education and development of the orator himself. It was written during the last years of the reign of Emperor Domitian (81-96).
