These orations were written by Francesco Filelfo (1398-1481), an Italian Renaissance humanist and an indefatigable Latin and Greek scholar of vast erudition. He was invited to lecture in a number of Italian cities, most notably Venice, Milan, Rome and Florence. This volume consists of orations written to celebrate marriages or other events and on the occasions of funerals. Other works are also included.
